Mary Wharton, an old friend of the family, comes to live on the Ponderosa with her shiftless husband. When Ben learns Mary is the victim of domestic violence, he sends her husband packing.

Trivia: This was Paul Richards’ second of three appearances on the series. Richards has the unique distinction of being the first actor to shoot Marshal Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke and also the first person that Steve McGarrett on Hawaii Five-O had to say “Book ’em Dano!”.
